Inspired

I came home from the Quilt Convention on Saturday very motivated to sew.
I just couldn't resist this Peter Rabbit panel! It didn't take long at all to make it up into a lovely book!

Before beginning the new projects I decided to finish this one. I began this New York Beauties last year. I have worked at it in small doses and gave it a larger dose to finish it. Still have to quilt it of course.

UFO's and leftover bits

I spent some time sorting through some sewing bits and pieces today. It is amazing what you find that has been forgotten.
There are enough left over squares of this lovely flannel to make another small quilt. Just need to find something nice to sash them with.
(Lucky that I am off to the Quilt Fair next weekend!!!!)

How long ago did I buy these foundation piecing kits? Before the kids came along!!!

These lovely little stitcheries were a gift.
I certainly have plenty to do!

A new fence

There have been some changes in my front garden this week. The side fence has been held up by the covering of ivy for a number of years. Recently the fence began to lean and we decided that it was finally beyond repair.

Although the ivy looked green and cool, and was not at all affected by the drought it had to go along with the old paling fence.

There were a few days with no fence at all. Then up went the new colourbond fence.
A load of mulch and a few hours work and the garden was looking much better.
Our gardening frogs even look happy!!!!!

New projects and projects in progress

There are almost 2 new Magoos in the world. A friend and I had a Magoo day, we are almost there and I will post a pic of them together when we have finished. Magoo is from Melly & Me.

I have completed two of the nine stitcheries from a set by Candlelight creations. I purchased the fabrics for the patchwork pieces and began the patchwork. It is so rewarding to see it all taking shape.

Only two days of holidays left! It is very hot here, nice to stay inside with the air conditioner and sewing projects.

A perfect weekend

I have had the most perfect weekend with friends! Sewing, chatting and eating at a lovely B & B in Buninyong. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and spent the afternoon and well into the night sewing and enjoying each others company. Five of us stayed the night and continued to sew through Sunday. Sunday evening we enjoyed a yummy dinner of homemade pizza cooked in the outdoor pizza oven. I came home after dinner, while three of the girls continued and will return home Monday morning.

This B & B in Buninyong is a perfect getaway for a sewing weekend or just to get away and relax. Check it out here.

A busy week

I love being on holidays. This week has been wonderful! Catching up with friends, crafty stuff and relaxing.
Tuesday was spent with Kate, Robyn and Val. Kate and I were learning the lovely art of Silk Painting. We were both a bit hesitant at the start, by the end of the day we were totally absorbed and are now looking forward to more!!

Thursday and Friday were two lovely relaxing days at the beach. First we were at Port Arlington and then Ocean Grove. The kids had a ball!! I was able to catch up with two wonderful friends. Thursday night was spent chatting, eating chocolate, drinking wine and a little sewing!!

Tomorrow after a lunch out with the girls I am off on a sewing weekend at Buninyong!!

Back on holidays

How time flies. It has been awhile since I posted on my Blog!
Term 4 was a busy term. I am now into holiday mode and beginning to get back to some sewing.
I recently collected a quilt from our local quilter, Elizabeth. I was so excited and very happy with the result. I have began to bind it, so it will be completed soon.

The garden is surviving, it is nice to be home to enjoy it.

The kids and I went to the Melbourne Aquarium to see the new Penguin display, well worth the visit.

There are a few sewing days being organized over the next couple of weeks, so I hopefully will progress with a few sewing projects.
