New projects and projects in progress

There are almost 2 new Magoos in the world. A friend and I had a Magoo day, we are almost there and I will post a pic of them together when we have finished. Magoo is from Melly & Me.

I have completed two of the nine stitcheries from a set by Candlelight creations. I purchased the fabrics for the patchwork pieces and began the patchwork. It is so rewarding to see it all taking shape.

Only two days of holidays left! It is very hot here, nice to stay inside with the air conditioner and sewing projects.

A perfect weekend

I have had the most perfect weekend with friends! Sewing, chatting and eating at a lovely B & B in Buninyong. We arrived on Saturday afternoon and spent the afternoon and well into the night sewing and enjoying each others company. Five of us stayed the night and continued to sew through Sunday. Sunday evening we enjoyed a yummy dinner of homemade pizza cooked in the outdoor pizza oven. I came home after dinner, while three of the girls continued and will return home Monday morning.

This B & B in Buninyong is a perfect getaway for a sewing weekend or just to get away and relax. Check it out here.

Back on holidays

How time flies. It has been awhile since I posted on my Blog!
Term 4 was a busy term. I am now into holiday mode and beginning to get back to some sewing.
I recently collected a quilt from our local quilter, Elizabeth. I was so excited and very happy with the result. I have began to bind it, so it will be completed soon.

The garden is surviving, it is nice to be home to enjoy it.

The kids and I went to the Melbourne Aquarium to see the new Penguin display, well worth the visit.

There are a few sewing days being organized over the next couple of weeks, so I hopefully will progress with a few sewing projects.

Time for sewing

It is lovely to have some time off work. Catching up with friends and of course some sewing and gardening!!

Spotted these bargain packs at Ballarat Patchwork and just had to get them. I have never sewn with Chenille before, so thought I would have a go since I am on holidays.

I rushed home with them and started - what a mess when I started cutting!!

A lovely quick and easy pattern, I have enjoyed working on it!

One pack down, one to go. I have decided to sew the two together to make a nice snuggle rug for the couch. Hopefully I will get back to it tomorrow.

Thankyou for the lovely cupcake Annie. It is sitting on my sewing table!!!

The holidays are flying by. I have been busy catching up with friends and some very productive sewing time. A sewing day with the girls was most enjoyable. It has been great spending time at home with the kids. Pa made a puppet theatre for the kids, I made the red curtains with the gold trim (as requested) and my 8 year old girl added the final decorations. I recently took part in a New York Beauties class, so decided to try this pattern using black, red and gold, all different colours for me!
